Normally, the decision-making process involved in booking a snow-sports holiday is relatively straightforward. When should I go? Which resort should I go to? How will I get there? Where should I stay?
This season, Covid-19 has added an unprecedented layer of complexity and uncertainty to the process, with questions such as ‘is it safe to go?’ and ‘what happens if I have to cancel due to the virus?’ added to the list.
While we can’t make the decision for you, we can point you towards the information that will help inform your decision.
How safe is it?
The authorities in Les Gets are actively preparing for the 2020-21 winter season and have taken steps to adapt the resort’s infrastructure to ensure the safety of visitors, employees and residents. For full details, including refunds available for unused ski passes, see Les Gets resort safety measures
When does the resort open?
The Les Gets ski area opens continuously on Saturday 12th December 2020. For the first week, only the Chavannes plateau will be open, unless snow conditions are good enough to open more areas.
On Saturday 19th December 2020 the Les Gets-Morzine ski area will be fully open.
The season is scheduled to end on Sunday 11th April 2021, but depending on the snow conditions some sectors of the ski area may close before this.
Early booking deals, such as 15% off a Les Gets-Morzine skipass, are currently available for passes booked before 31st October 2020. See Les Gets lift passes
What if I have to cancel?
Your rights in regard to cancelling your holiday will depend on the circumstances of the cancellation and the policies of the individual companies you have booked with, so it’s advisable to check with each company before you book to see what their current policy is. Many of the companies listed on the Les Gets info website
have already published their policies. For example:
• Les Gets Snowsports
(LGS) offer a 100% refund should customers need to cancel their lessons due to specified Covid-19 causes.
• Rush Adventures
have a 100% financial guarantee that monies will not be forfeited if your holiday booking is disrupted by specified circumstances.
Will it snow?
